This Bicycle is Guaranteed As-Long-As-You-Own-It

Every part of this Schwinn-Built bicycle, except the tires and tubes, pedals, coaster brake, saddles, chrome and enamel finishes, is guaranteed As Long As The Bicycle Remains In The Possession Of The Original Purchaser and is not used in rental service, or with a motor.

Arnold, Schwinn Company will send or furnish a replacement for any such part which is defective, if you have your own Schwinn Dealer or any Schwinn Dealer send it to us, transportation charges paid.

Damage resulting from abuse, accident, neglect or ordinary wear and tear, does not constitute a defect. We hereby assume no liability for consequential loss or damage beyond the guarantee applying to the replacement of defective parts as set forth above.

This Certificate is numbered and registered by Arnold, Schwinn and Company. Sign and keep it in a safe place. It must accompany any part returned to us for replacement and will then be returned to the owner. A lost Certificate must be reported to us immediately so that it may be cancelled and a new one issued to replace it.

This Certificate will not be valid until we receive the attached registration card, properly filled out and signed by the original owner or purchaser.

Schwinn-Built Drop Out Rear Fork Ends

Form reinforced for great rigidity and beauty of appearance. Electronically welded into one piece with frame tubes. Wheel removes forwardly, mud guard and carrier braces not disturbed in wheel removal. Chain automatically loosens and does not have to be disconnected to remove wheel.

Schwinn-Built Chain Guard Bracket

Attached directly to lugs on frame. Guard easily and quickly removable. Solid mounting of bracket prevents rattling and chain from grinding against guard.

Schwinn- Built Seat Post Clamp

Fits over frame tube, not brazed on. Quickly and easily replaceable if damaged. Made from finest tempered steel forgoings. Lock head bolt.

Schwinn Cycle Frame

Made from Schwinn-Built steel tubes. Steering head, hanger bracket, rear fork ends and connecting tubes electronically welded into one continuous, jointless steel structure. Schwinn-Built Steering Head Bearings

Octagonal upper adjusting cup takes standard wrenches. Semi-thrust type lower head bearings with 3/16" diameter steel balls in retainers. All parts turned from solid bar steel. Standard equipment on all B and New World Models.

Schwinn Tubular Front Fork

An exclusive patented Schwinn feature employing the same principle of independent wheel suspension found on the finest automobiles. The full-floating front fork is independently sprung between a chrome plated tempered steel coil spring and rubber bumper.

Road shocks ordinarily transmitted to frame and handlebars are absorbed by the Schwinn Spring Fork, permitting a smooth ride over roads considered impassable to ordinary bicycles.

Beautifully finished in sparkling baked-on enamel and heavily plated with gleaming chrome, the Schwinn Spring Fork adds greatly to the appearance of the bicycles, particularly on your display floor.

Large Flange Fore-Wheel Brake

Automobile type expander brake with improved mechanism - fastest stopping brake known and fits any make of bicycle. Equipped with replaceable Raybestos lined brake shoes carefully shielded from water, dust and dirt to insure safe, smooth stops.

A dustproof and waterproof cable housing and well formed chrome plated hand lever complete this popular and practical accessory which adds to appearance of the bicycle and to the all-important safety of the rider. The Schwinn heavy duty Large Flange Fore- Wheel Brake with its 3/8" axle and large ball bearings, is an absolute safety requirement on all motorized bicycles.

The Famous Schwinn Cycelock

Simple to operate and completely tamper proof, the patented Schwinn Cycelock is the most practical and effective device ever developed for protection against theft. The front wheel is turned at an angle when locked and only when it is in this position can the key be removed.

This prevents loss of the key while riding and makes it impossible to ride the bicycle when locked. A Yale lock controls a bolt which slides through a hole inside the frame, making it impossible to release the lock except with the key. Because this feature permits lower insurance rates, it appeals to prospective cycle buyers - use it to increase your sales.

Schwinn-Built juvenile bicycles are designed and built with all of the care and attention devoted to the standard size models. Perfect replicas of the larger bicycles, they have the same fine riding qualities, balance and perfect ease of handling which assures safety and comfort, plus the unusual beauty of appearance characteristic of Schwinn-Built Bicycles.

All of the structural features of the larger bicycles are also incorporated, such as the patented Schwinn built-in kick stand, mud and chain guard mountings, drop-out rear fork ends, and removable seat post clamp. These are unquestionably the finest juvenile bicycles obtainable. These are the fastest selling juvenile bicycles in the Schwinn line. Popularly priced for such excellent quality, they appeal to the average parent. The Schwinn Ultra Short Tandem combines everything that is new and practical in tandem design. Tandem engineered throughout, it will stand up under any and all conditions.

Why Ultra Short?

On a tandem the shortest possible wheel base, consistent with rider comfort, provides the utmost in handleability and safety in traffic and under dangerous road conditions.

A long tandem drags badly on hills and requires more effort to propel. The short tandem reduces riding drag to the minimum and is also much easier to store and wheel around.

Why Lady-Back?

In the heyday of cycling, tandem riding never became popular. All tandems were built lady-front and double steering. Women generally are more timid and fearful and the front position plus double steering proved impractical. Nothing could be as foolishly dangerous as double steering, particularly under present-day traffic conditions.

Famous Schwinn Cycelock

The Schwinn patented Cycelock provides the best protection against theft. Bicycles so equipped may be insured at a substantially lower rate than those not equipped. Built as an integral part of the head set, the front wheel is turned at an angle and securely locked. When locked, the bolt fits through a hole inside the frame and cannot be reached from the outside.

Schwinn Detachable Seat Post Clamp

Quickly and easily replaced if damaged, it avoids expensive unbrazing, brazing on the new clamp and re-enameling the frame. Because it is not brazed, it is free to draw tight all around the tube providing secure clamping without undue bolt strain.

Schwinn-Built Head Sets

No pains have been spared in either the design or production of these sets. Carefully selected steels are used throughout and accurately machined. The carburizing and heat treating is done in the newest and best equipment available. They will last indefinitely and provide friction-free operation.

Continental Head Set

Continental lightweight touring and racing head set. Turned from solid bar steel throughout. Continental pattern with in- verted octagonal adjustable head cup which prevents rain or grit from getting into the upper bearing. Special thrust type lower bearing.

As in the racing set, no retainers are provided to eliminate retainer friction. 5/32" best grade steel balls throughout. Used on the Continental models only. Order No. 9888.

The Famous Schwinn-Built Tubular and Racing Rims

Schwinn-Built on special machinery. New processes and techniques were engineered and developed by the Schwinn Technical Staff to produce these fine rims. These tubular rims are from three to five times stronger and yet are lighter than the single section type.

They represent the greatest advance in American cycle building since the introduction of the balloon tire. They build up into wheels quickly and accurately and remain true under the most severe service and even abuse. These fine bicycle rims are another Schwinn First.

This brake is furnished for both front and rear wheel mounting and its braking efficiency has been greatly increased. Rear brakes are now equipped for downward pull cable.
